Chiropractic Care
By using gentle, non-force adjusting techniques, during the adjustment the spinal vertebra are gently unlocked and released from their misaligned positions. This unravels the tension held by the spinal cord, thus alleviating pain and re-establishing healthy nerve communication between the brain and body.
With spinal adjustments, your nervous system releases old adaptive patterns which are no longer useful – removing the inference which prevents your body from healing.
Additional therapies that are used during the treatment are Cold Laser Therapy which helps decrease pain and spasm and enhance healing and regeneration. The laser, soft tissue and stretching exercise therapies are gentle non-invasive techniques that enhance the therapeutic and healing affects of the spinal adjustment.
Soft Tissue Therapy is also used to release pain, spasm, and dysfunction of the neuromusculoskeletal system (trigger point therapy, myofacial, and release).
Stretching/Exercise Therapy
Dysfunctional soft tissues can either be too short and tight or too long and weak. Depending on clinical assessment findings some patients may be given stretching and strengthening protocols.
All treatment sessions are experienced in a calm, and stress free environment.
Lifestyle and Stress Management
Stress is our physical, mental, emotional and chemical response to the various demands, changes and events in our life. When we perceive or feel that life’s demands are exceeding our ability to deal with them we experience stress overload. This overload has a negative impact on our health.
Dr. Magnuson explores the stressors in your life and helps you develop attainable strategies that shift your perception and response, facilitating recovery from stress overload.
Natural Hormone Balancing Hormones play a vital role in every woman’s health and well being. There is a unique communication that occurs between the organs of the endocrine system and proper hormone balance is essential to maintaining good health. When this communication is disrupted imbalances in our hormones can negatively impact our over-all health at any age. This can cause a cascade of symptoms and disorders such as depression, fatigue, weight gain, PMS, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, lowered libido, fibroids, endometriosis, hot flashes, premature menopause, and more.
By evaluating your lifestyle and symptoms and using testing methods such as saliva and hair analysis, Dr. Magnuson develops a healing protocol unique to your physiology. Protocols include healthy nutrition, lifestyle/stress management, high quality whole food and herbal supplements, and when appropriate, bioidentical hormone therapy.
Nutrition and Weight Loss
As a population we are consuming large portions of the wrong kinds of foods, such as refined, enriched foods and snacks that are high in sugar and refined carbohydrates. These poor diet choices combined with a sedentary lifestyle promote weight gain and ill-health.
Too many people address their weight issues by trying “quick-fix” weight loss diets. Because these diets often do not take into account the long term needs of the body, these dieters do not experience permanent results. Most people end up frustrated because eventually all the weight that was lost is gained back.
Achieving your bodies ideal weight takes time, commitment, and a willingness to explore healthier nutritional habits that include high quality proteins, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
Dr. Magnuson has extensively studied nutrition and health. She gently guides her patients through the “maze of confusion” surrounding nutrition and healthy weight loss.
In the process, you will learn about your body and its needs. You are also likely to shed some weight, rid yourself of accumulated toxins, and experience an enhanced sense of well being and vitality.
